As the student event coordinator in the Eller undergraduate program, I have the opportunity and privilege to plan multiple Eller events that serve the college as well as the community. My favorite event that I get to see come together is the college’s annual philanthropy event, Make a Difference Day.

This event aims to bring together past, present, and future Wildcats for a day of service in the Tucson community. This year, we celebrated our 14th annual Eller Make a Difference Day. Over the two days, we deployed 1,200 volunteers in to the Tucson community and served 22 non-profit organizations.

On Friday we hosted two of Eller’s corporate sponsors, Geico and Enterprise, as well as Sahuarita High School, five Eller Clubs, eight University of Arizona Greek Chapters and two University of Arizona clubs.

Saturday was our biggest day of service with 870 volunteers that derived from another one of Eller’s corporate sponsors, Altria, plus Tucson High School, 17 Eller organizations, nine University of Arizona Greek Chapters, and four University of Arizona clubs.

Our day of service, making a difference in the Tucson community, could not be as impactful without the wonderful commitment from our volunteers.

From myself and the members of the Eller Make a Difference Day team, thank you for your dedication to service!
