Eller College faculty will bring their insight to Phoenix for a five-day leadership program aimed at mid-level leaders who need a focused skill-building option that minimizes time away from work.
“Often we find that people have moved into senior roles with impeccable technical credentials but little formal leadership training,” said Paul Melendez, assistant dean, executive education. “The Business Leadership Competencies program focuses on building skill in change management, communications, negotiations, ethics, team leadership, and even management of your personal brand.”
The Eller program brings the topics to life through case-based discussion and exercises.
“One of the most important components of the program is the Organization Process Innovation,” said Stephen Gilliland, associate dean, executive education. “This is a capstone group learning project that gives participants the chance to work with others to apply the course material to their current leadership challenges. What that means is that participants can immediately apply the program concepts to their day-to-day work – immediate return on a small investment.”
The program is offered through Eller Executive Education, the non-degree leadership development arm of the UA’s Eller College of Management. Eller Exec Ed develops custom programs for local, regional, and international organizations. Recent clients include BHP Billiton, City of Tucson, Pima County Attorney’s Office, Raytheon Missile Systems, Roche, and Ventana Medical Systems, among others.
The Business Leadership Competencies program will be held April 28-May 2 at the Eller College Scottsdale Campus, 16425 N. Pima Rd, Scottsdale. More information is available at www.executive.eller.arizona.edu/blc/.
