Last Thursday, the NewSpace Business Group hosted Dannie Stamp, former COO of the Iridium constellation. He talked to a group of MBA students for almost an hour and a half about the reforms that he implemented in the satellite manufacturing industry, starting with designing for manufacturability and on to reforms for quality testing new to the industry.
The implications of his experience to supply chain management and managing innovation in the business model highlighted for our students many of their class work and independent study work form the last two years in the Eller MBA program. It provided a textbook example of Harvard Business School’s Dr. Clayton Christensen’s Value Networks, insights into operations management and how contract terms impact corporate behavior.
Mr. Stamp has expressed interest in returning to campus and we hope to bring him to campus again soon. Check out the video below, or watch the Q&A session on the NewSpace Business Group’s YouTube channel here.
